We are Lauren & Jem – a husband and wife team working together on a historic Indiana farmstead. Lauren comes from generations of family farmers who have worked the land in Indiana, all the way back to the early 1800s. Jem was raised by two college professors in Southeast Missouri, and went on to pursue academic philosophy before adventuring west to dabble in forestry and shepherding in New Mexico. We met and fell in love in Chicago, where Lauren was a 3rd grade teacher leading camping trips and raising chickens with her kids, and Jem was a worker on an organic farm outside of the city. We decided to make the plunge and follow our dreams of building our own organic farm business by moving onto a piece of Lauren’s family land in 2017. Now, we have roughly 75 chickens, 2 dogs, 3 cats, a hoop house, a renovated wedding barn venue that hosted our own wedding in 2019, and we raise our own cut flowers & organic veggies.

When Lauren isn’t harvesting flowers or making bouquets, she is working as a full time floral designer at Webster’s Florist in Peru. When Jem isn’t farming, he is working at the Peru Public Library or teaching Philosophy or Ethics at Ivy Tech Community College.
